morning was a gracious one. we'll take you live to boston. we'll take a look at what went wrong for the romney campaign. >>> many people are crediting the campaign organization as one of the reasons for his re- election win. the political reporter joins us via skype joins us outside of washington, d.c. how did obama's campaign get out the vote efforts really pay off? >> reporter: well, if you break down the redales and start -- details and start -- and start looking at them, it's almost county by county, the president winning most of the same counties in florida and in ohio and then you start then going into the details and you see that the democrats were able to get out of vote again and sometimes mitt romney was not even able to reach the level of what john mccain had gone four years ago. one example in franklin county, the obama people were able to get 15,000 more votes than people while the mccain levels were not reached by romney. down in south florida, miami- dade, home to marco rubio. the romney campaign couldn't come close as the obama squeezed the out 70,000 than their 130,

campaign trail, the one last night. candy crowley is at romney headquarters in boston. candy, how are you? >> i'm very good. how are you, piers? >> you must feel like you've -- you must feel like the end of the longest marathon run in the history of marathon runs. how would you describe the mood down at the romney camp? do you sense you're amongst people who believe they can win? >> yes. absolutely. in their conference calls, when they talk to reporters that are on the road with them, they are looking around them and they are talking to their various offices in these swing states and they feel very confident about enthusiasm. they say the enthusiasm is on their side. they also say that there's a great phrase that they use called high propensity voters and those are folks that always come out on election day, and they take a look at those early voting states, in ohio, for instance, where the democrats seem to have a large edge in the early votes, and they say well, that's because they quote, cannibalize their high propensity voters which means they believe the obama team is turning out

in boston, and, rich, welcome to fox news sunday. >> chris, thanks for having me on, i'm sitting here trying to imagine what mr. axelrod is going to look like next week without his mustache... it is fun to think of. >> chris: we'll see. let me ask you about david axelrod, because he said you guys are desperate in pennsylvania, and you are vulnerable in florida. your reaction? >> well, desperate four years ago, this weekend, president obama was campaigning in indiana, and, today, governor romney is campaigning in pennsylvan pennsylvania. i don't think campaigning in states where we wasn't won since 1988 and 1972 are acts of desperation, it looks like the map is expanding drastically in our favor and it is nothing we are doing, it is governor romney's message and talk about florida, to spend more money down there is a little bit like barack obama's government, they want to throw money at the problem and hope it fixing it, but at the end of the day governor romney will carry florida by a significant margin. >> chris: let me ask you about the point that he made. romney, you know, mon

albany, hartford and boston. in any snow does fall, it probably wouldn't accumulate on the pavement. still hovering around 40. so whatever falls should melt throughout the morning and especially during the afternoon. here's the winter radar. this is our little weak storm. the white shows you where the snow is. the pink is the mix. and then where we show you the green, that's where the rain is. washington, d.c., starting heavier echoes. this is probably hitting the ground, maybe a little sleet mixed in, too, western maryland. as this all translates this afternoon right over the top of the philadelphia to new york city area, that's where we could see minor accumulations. we're not talking a lot. the cities themselves, probably the roads will be fine, on the cars and the grass, maybe an inch or two. north and west of philadelphia, pennsylvania, northwest jersey could get from two to three inches. southern new england could pick up an inch or two and that could even accumulate on the roads. the airports could have minor issues as that falls from the sky. also down in the southeast, lynn

romney will be voting tomorrow, belmont, massachusetts. not far from where you are in boston. he will also campaign in ohio and pennsylvania, a state that hasn't voted for a republican presidential nominee since george bush senior, back in '88. what does that tell you? is that a hail mary backup in case he loses ohio or just worth a try since he's in the neighborhood or does he think he really has a chance? >> it depends on who you ask, anderson. clearly the polls have tightened up in pennsylvania. they took a look at it, when you talk to the folks in the romney campaign they say listen, we have spent the money, we need to spend in all these battleground states that john was talking about. all of our resources that we can put in there are there. we are up on the air as much as we can be. there's no more room for ads on tv in all these battleground states and they took a look at pennsylvania and said first of all, it's right next door to ohio so not like they have to go across the country to go there. plus more than 90% of pennsylvanians will vote on election day. there's no early voti

second race for the white house. carl cammeron has been covering the campaign and is live in boston now. we are already seeing some monday morning quarterbacking. what a shock. >> sure. when a party loses, this is what happens. it happened back in 2008 when john mccain lost. the republic party looked close at itself and now it's doing the same thing in the wake of mitt romney's defeat. it doesn't take much to understand why look at the numbers in key constituencies where republicans were facing uphill climb mr. romney did not do particularly well he got blown out with latino voters. mr. obama beating mr. romney with latino voters. women's vote. disadvantage for the g.o.p. continues. there you see again mr. obama with a commanding advantage over mr. romney. and lastly the youth vote. mitt romney's campaign didn't spend a lot of time courting these constituencies tried on occasions but it wasn't the overall focus of how they did it as opposed to the president's campaign which microtargetted. county by county, neighborhood by neighborhood. street by street and picked up these votes. an
